A five-time All-Star and a winner of seven consecutive Gold Gloves, Bill White distinguished himself as one of baseball's elite first basemen before becoming National League President. These two items are from White's playing days. The game-used St. Louis Cardinals pants have a felt patch in the waistband with "White 60 26 ins" in red chain stitch, denoting player name, year, and inseam, respectively. Below this is a flag tag reading "SET 1 1960". Above the patch is the "Rawlings" manufacturer's tag with the wash tag to its left and the size tag "36" to its right. The pants show game use. The 1962 player contract is between White and the Cardinals and is signed on the proverbial dotted line in black ink by White with a signature that rates a near 10. National League President Warren Giles also signed the contract and his blue ink signature rates an 8.
