Dennis Eckersely had two careers, one as a top-flight starter with the Red Sox and Cubs and one as the best relief pitcher in the game with the A's. He wore this Cubs spring training uniform in 1987 shortly before he was traded to Oakland and switched to the pen, where he racked up 390 saves until his 1998 retirement. The "Rawlings" label and size "42" is in the neck and directly below is a white label reading "43 87 1 42" for the player number, year, set number and size. On the left breast is the red/white/blue Cubs logo and on the back is the number "43." The numbers are made of blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the Cubs patch. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. It comes with an additional letter of authenticity.
