Before playing pro ball, Davis was a high school basketball standout and teammate of future NBA great Lenny Wilkins. In 1962, playing outfield and third base for the LA Dodgers, Davis topped the NL in hits (230) and BA (.346.) His league-leading 154 RBI were the most in the NL in 25 years. He was also the starting left fielder for the NL All-Stars in 1962. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Rawlings Hall of Fame Flannel" label and size tag, "44." Below is the name "Davis" and under this is the year "60." Both name and year are in blue chain stitch. On the inside left front tail is the wash tag and adjacent is the flag tag reading "Set 1 1960." Across the front of the jersey is "Dodgers" in script style letters. The player number "12" appears on both the left breast and back of the shirt. The numbers on the front are made of red felt and the numbers on the back are made of blue felt. On the left front is an inscription and autograph rating an 8. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
