Mike Piazza quickly established himself in Los Angeles as one of the greatest offensive catchers baseball has ever seen. It took him four minor league seasons to reach Los Angeles, but once he did, he never looked back. In his rookie season of 1993, Piazza set Dodger rookie records of 35 home runs and 122 RBIs. After the season, he was the unanimous choice for NL "Rookie of the Year." In the neck of the jacket is the "Diamond Collection" label and below is the size tag, "XL." Across the front of the jacket is the name "Dodgers" in script-style letters and on the back is the name "Piazza." On the left sleeve is the "LA" logo. The letters and logo are made of white tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the "Dodgers Stadium 35 Seasons" patch. The jacket shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The bat is a Louisville Slugger, model C243, that shows the labeling period 1993-97. It measures 34.25 inches in length and weighs 33.5 ounces. It shows nice game use with very light pine tar on the handle. His jersey number "31" appears on both ends. The jacket and bat come with letters of authenticity.
