Veteran first baseman Todd Zeile and young centerfielder Jay Payton embodied the NY Mets' blend of talent that fueled the team's run to the NL pennant in 2000. This lot consists of Zeile's black alternate knit jersey and Payton's grey road knit jersey, both worn during the 2000 season. On the inside left tail of the Zeile jersey is the "Rawlings" label and size "46" and "Set 2 2000" flag tags. Across the front is "Mets" in script style letters and on the back "Zeile." The player number "9" is on both the left breast and back. The logo, letters and numbers are made of blue on white on orange tackle twill. In the tail of the Payton jersey is the "Axis" label and size "48." The adjacent flag tag has been removed. Across the front is "New York" and "Payton" is on the back. The player number "44" is on the left front breast and back. The numbers and letters are made of blue on orange on black tackle twill. The Mets logo is on the left sleeve. Both jerseys show game-use and with the exception of the removed flag tag on the Payton shirt, appear to have no alterations of any kind.
