Two-sport player Ron Reed, was a basketball standout at Notre Dame. He was an NBA forward in 1965-67 as the sixth man for Dave Debusschere's (another two-sport player) Pistons. Reed was the Braves' winning pitcher on April 8, 1974, the day Hank Aaron hit his record-breaking 715th home run. He recorded 103 career saves and was an All-Star in 1968. In the neck of the Reed jersey is a blue label with the name "Reed" in black chain stitch. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label with the size, "46" and below is a blue label reading "82 2" in black chain stitch. The numbers denote the year and set number. Above the Wilson label is an autograph. On the left breast is the Phillies logo and on the back is a blue nameplate with the name "Reed." The player number "42" appears on both the right breast and on the back of the shirt. The logo, letters and numbers are made of maroon on white tackle twill. Gary Matthews hit .300 with 10 triples and 17 stolen bases to win the National League "Rookie of the Year" award in 1973 and remained an amazingly consistent hitter throughout his career. In the neck of the Matthews jersey is a blue label with the name "Matthews" in black chain stitch. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label with the size, "44" and below is a blue label reading "82 2" in black chain stitch. The numbers denote the year and set number. On the left breast is the Phillies logo and on the back is a blue nameplate with the name "Matthews." The player number "34" appears on both the right breast and on the back of the shirt. The logo, letters and numbers are made of maroon on white tackle twill. Both jerseys show game-use and appear to have no alterations of any kind.
