A menacing figure at the plate, this superstar and veteran captain, always brought class and very often victory to the Pirates. On July 22, 1964, Stargell hit for the cycle. That year, the lefthanded slugger began a string of 13 consecutive 20-homer seasons and also made his first of seven All-Star game appearances. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Pirates." The player number "8" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the shirt. The letters and numbers are made of black on mustard tackle twill. There is an autograph in the neck of the shirt, rating a solid 9. The jersey comes with an additional letter of authenticity indicating that it came from the Halper collection. It shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
