Hitting was Carew's trademark, but he was also one of the game's best baserunners. This AL "Rookie of the Year" won seven AL batting championships and won them by consistently larger margins than anyone except Rogers Hornsby. He was a multiple All-Star and received the MVP award in 1977. Carew was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1991, becoming the 22nd player to be named in his first year of eligibility. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Goodman" label which includes the size, "42." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Angels" and on the back is the name "Carew." The player number "29" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the shirt. All the letters and numbers are made of red on blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the California State patch. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
