In 1982, future first-ballot Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson undoubtedly had the most outstanding year ever experienced by a base stealer, shattering the single-season record for stolen bases with an incredible 130 steals. During this record setting season, Rickey Henderson stole second 97 times, stole third 32 times, and even stole home plate once! This 1982 Oakland Athletics home white knit jersey was worn by Rickey Henderson during a record-breaking 1982 season and demonstrates great game use. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturer's tag and size "42." Below this is a white patch with "35 82" in black chain stitch, denoting the player number and year. On the left breast of the jersey is the team name "A's" in green on yellow tackle twill. The player name "Henderson" appears on the back of the jersey in green tackle twill and below it is the player number "35" in green on yellow tackle twill. The jersey shows very good game use including significant fraying of the green embroidered trim on the front and wear on the "A's" logo on the front, presumably from sliding head-first. It appears to have no alterations of any kind.
