Canseco was a baseball giant in size, potential and gossip, and became the first member of the 40-40 club when he was a mere 23 years old, winning the MVP award that year in a landslide. At his peak, few people could match his formidable presence and tremendous swing at the plate. On the inside left front tail is the "Rawlings" label and size "50." Adjacent to this is a white label reading "2 90" in green Swiss embroidered stitch. The numbers denote the set number and year, respectively. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Athletics" in script style letters made of green on gold tackle twill and on the back is a white nameplate with the name "Canseco" in green tackle twill. The player number "33" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the shirt. The numbers are made of green on gold tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the "!989 World Series" patch and on the left front is an autograph. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
