This Milwaukee Brewers home knit uniform worn by Paul Molitor in 1987 commemorates the career year of this future Hall of Famer, when the third baseman fought off two trips to the disabled list to finish second in the batting race with a .353 average. He led the AL with 41 doubles and 114 runs, and racked up a 39-game hit streak. In his 23-season career, including 15 with the Brew Crew, Molitor hit .306 with 3,319 hits and 234 home runs. Molitor signed the front of the jersey in black marker, the signature rating an 8. On the inside front tail is the "Rawlings" label and size "42" and the flag tag stating "Set 2 1987." Below is a white patch with "87 Molitor" in blue Swiss embroidered stitch. Across the front is "Brewers" and the player number "4" appears on both the left breast and on the back. All the letters and numbers are made of blue tackle twill on a gold tackle twill backing. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
