Boggs was the only batter in the twentieth century to have seven consecutive 200-hit seasons. He reached his 3,000 hit milestone on August 7, 1999, the first time in baseball history that a player's 3,000 hit was a round-tripper. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" label and size "42." Below this is a gray patch with the year "85" in blue chain stitch. Across the front of the jersey is "Boston" and on the back is the player number "26." Both the name and number are made of blue tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
