Slick Luis Aparicio came out of Venezuela to win Rookie of the Year in 1956 for the Chicago White Sox. Over a 17-year career, he set fielding records for shortstops in games, double plays and assists. Teaming with fellow Hall of Famer Nellie Fox to form the best shortstop-second base combo in baseball in the late 1950s and early 1960s, Aparicio was also a fine hitter who hit .262 lifetime and had 506 stolen bases. He signed the bill of this blue, battle-scarred White Sox helmet from the early 1960s, writing "Luis Aparicio, HOF 84" in white marker. The signature rates a 7.
