Baseball rang in a new century of Midsummer Classics when the 71st All-Star Game was played at Atlanta's Turner Field on July 7, but for fans of the hometown Braves it was an old story. Although local hero Chipper Jones blasted out a home run, the New York Yankees' Derek Jeter collared three hits and two RBIs and was named the game's MVP in the AL's 6-3 victory. This near-mint Official 2000 All-Star Game ball is signed by 24 members of the AL and NL squads including NL manager Bobby Cox (SS), Sammy Sosa, Tom Glavine, Gary Sheffield, Al Leiter, Shane Reynolds, Matt Lawton, Edgardo Alfonzo, etc. The signatures are in blue pen and rate 8s, 9s, and near-10s.
