In 1935, during Jimmie Foxx's last season in a Philadelphia A's uniform, a salary dispute with tightwad owner Connie Mack led to his trade to the Boston Red Sox. Foxx's bat was as lethal as ever, blasting out a league-leading 36 homers with a .346 average and 114 RBIs for the last-place A's. The Hall of Fame slugger's signature is one of 14 by members of the team on this toned Official League Ball, on the sweet spot in black fountain pen and rating a near 10. Other signatures include two future big league managers, Pinky Higgins and Paul Richards, as well as Roger Cramer, Dutch Lieber, Carl Doyle, Bernie Snyder, Bill Conroy, Bob Johnson, Skeeter Newsome, Johnny Marcum, etc. All signatures are in black ink except for Richards who signed in blue, and rate 8s and 9s.
