This beautifully preserved, smoothly shellacked ball contains 19 signatures mostly from the 1934 world champion Detroit Tigers and a number of other Hall of Fame legends led by the inimitable Babe Ruth on the sweet spot. While Ruth's big-as-life signature is PSA authenticated, some of the other VIPs who like Ruth were spectators at the Series, as well as some Tiger stars, may have had their signatures duplicated as part of a practice in which stars would have clubhouse attendants, batboys, etc. sign balls for them in exchange for tips. According to PSA, the signatures of Rudy York, Dizzy Dean, Paul Dean, Schoolboy Rowe, and Mickey Cochrane have been ghost signed. However, the signatures of Tiger HOFers Hank Greenberg and Goose Goslin are authentic, Greenberg's on the sweet spot opposite of Ruth's and Goslin's on a side panel. Of the three, Ruth's is superior, rating a solid 8 to Greenberg's 6 and Goslin's 7. All signatures are in black fountain pen and include Bill Rogell, Pete Fox, Frank Doljack, Firpo Marberry, Luke Hamlin, Flea Clifton, etc.
