Walt Alston's collection of team-signed Dodger championship balls grew by one in 1966 when the team captured its third NL flag in four years though it was stopped in its tracks in the World Series by the Baltimore Orioles, who stole the Dodgers' m.o. of airtight pitching and defense. The near mint ONL Giles ball has 26 signatures including those of Alston and Don Drysdale on the SS, Sandy Koufax, Maury Wills, Ron Fairly, John Roseboro, Bill Singer, Claude Osteen, Jim Lefebrve, Ron Perranoski, Jeff Torborg, Jim Brewer, Willie Davis, John Kennedy, etc. Signatures are in blue ink and rate 8s and 9s.
