This green folding chair may date back to the 1916 opening of Wrigley Field, as it was among a collection of chairs that were replaced in the late 1930s with fixed seats and stored in the Wrigley catacombs until Cubs management sold them to fans in the 1980s. No fan is as loyal, or as frustrated, as Cubs fans and the metallic chair with wood slats represents a bond with past generations who practiced the annual ritual of hoping each new season brings the first title since 1908. Remarkably, the sturdy chair has only minor rusting. It comes with a newspaper article explaining the sale of the original seats.
