"Spahn and Sain and pray for rain!" Boston Braves fans used to cry in the late 1940s. Some fans probably shouted from the seats that contained this figural cast-iron end panel from the grandstand at Braves Stadium, home to Beantown's "other" team from 1910 to 1952 before it moved to Milwaukee. Located on Commonwealth Avenue, the Braves stadium was a single-decked park with open pavilions where fans would choke on smoke from the nearby railroad yard and pray for the miracle that nearly happened in 1948 when the team won the NL pennant but lost to the Indians in the World Series. The seat end features a ball-shaped embossed logo with "B, NL, C" lettering and a diamond shaped logo at the bottom with a catcher's mitt embossed in the center. There is some general wear, rusting and paint flaking , but the panel retains much of its original brown color, and all of its history.
