Metropolitan Stadium, built in 1956 to house the American Association's Minneapolis Millers, became big league in 1962 when the Washington Senators became the Minnesota Twins, necessitating an extension of the grandstand and the adding of bleachers. The park was also home to the NFL Vikings until both teams moved to the Metrodome in 1982. When The Met was demolished in 1985, this original stadium seat dating back to 1956 was saved for posterity. The light blue wooden seat has the number "15" stenciled onto the back in white and retains much of its original color, despite scattered chipping and rust on the metal sides, and comes with a letter of authenticity.
