The 1992 hit movie "In a League of Their Own" starred Madonna, Geena Davis, Rosie O'Donnell and Tom Hanks. The three actresses portrayed teammates on the all-women's baseball team, the Rockford Peaches. Tom Hanks managed the club. This team was part of the All-American Girl's Professional Baseball League formed in 1943 during World War II to fill the gap left by major leaguers who had left to serve. Madonna played Mae Mordabito, the gum snapping, wise cracking center fielder. This is a complete uniform worn by Madonna. There is a "City of Rockford Peaches" patch on the center of the uniform and a "A-A GPBL" patch on the left sleeve. On the red cap is the red letter "R" in a white circle. Her black "game used" shoes are included. They are wonderfully displayed and encased in acrylic. A facsimile of a peach has an inscription to Madonna from two actual players from the team, Dottie Kamenshek and Nickie Fox. There are three movie stills and a description at the bottom of the display. The acrylic case has a small chip on the left side. Overall, the piece is in excellent condition. It comes with a letter of authenticity from Sportsrobe, the wardrobe supplier to the movie.
