The Princeton Tigers played in the very first college game, losing to Rutgers on November 6, 1869. Up until the 1950s they were consistently among the nation's top teams, winning 11 national titles. The Princeton-Yale Ivy League rivalry is the second oldest in the country. This long Princeton circa-1960s sideline coat is an homage to the glory days of the 1922 "Team of Destiny", legendary coach William Roper, and players like Pink Baker, Snake Ames, and Dick Kazmaier. The hooded, heavy grey clasp-front coat has stitched across the back the famous orange "P" logo that was introduced in 1876. On the right sleeve is a player number "7" also stitched in orange tackle twill.
