Pro Football Hall of Famer Tom Fears was doubly honored in 1976 when he was inducted to the College Football HOF for his two All-America seasons at UCLA in 1946 and 1947 after serving in the Air Force during WWII. Fears received this trophy as the Bruin's MVP. The trophy, awarded by the L.A. American Legion, has a long silver stanchion topped by a football, mounted on a black base with a plaque engraved with Fears' name and the words "Most Valuable Player, U.C.L.A. Football Team, 1947." The trophy is in very good condition with some rusting and discoloration on the plaque.
