Football fans even in Jacksonville might not be able to pinpoint anything different about this inaugural year Jaguars helmet and jersey, but the folks at the Jaguar Motors surely can, which explains why the logo on them never made it into a game. It was unveiled by the team before its inaugural year of 1995, but the black and gold jaguar was too familiar for the posh automobile company, which sued on copyright infringement, claiming it was exactly like the one on the hood of its cars. The team then altered the logo, putting the prototypical logo on the shelf -- and making it an instant collectible. The Riddell helmet is jet black and the Wilson size 46 jersey white with an aqua, gold and black No. 95 on front, back and both sleeves, and the NFL logo (unchanged) on the back.
