When the New York Giants met the Baltimore Colts for the NFL title on December 28, 1958, few would have dreamed that football could be as exciting - and long - as it was when the two teams locked up in the first-ever overtime contest. Millions were glued to TV sets watching "the greatest game ever played" as the Colts, led by Johnny Unitas' pinpoint passing drove the Colts to a last-minute, game-tying field in regulation, before fullback Alan Ameche crashed over from the 1-yard-line with 6:45 left in the OT to end it. This copy bears the signatures of an array of HOFers on both teams, including Unitas, Lenny Moore, Jim Parker, Gino Marchetti, Art Donovan, Ray Berry, Frank Gifford, and Kyle Rote, as well as other star players. Some of the signatures are on pages with the players' photos, others in a centerfold roster listing. All are in blue ink and rate 8s and 9s while the 32-page program itself is in good condition with a few pages torn.
