This extremely rare 10K gold pendant in the shape of a football may be one of the rarest collectibles from pro football's 80-year existence, marking the first time anyone could call a gridiron team champions of the world. The prehistoric version of the modern era's title hardware now worn on a finger. The pendants were awarded to each member of the Akron Pros, a long-obscure team that in 1920 racked up the best record in the fledgling American Professional Football Association (which became the NFL two years later). Rarer still is that the pendant was owned by the first championship QB, Harry Harris, who played only that one season. The 1" pendant, one of a precious few that have survived, is in excellent-NM condition with a shine and pluck as vivid as ever. The meticulous stitching on the ball is still crystal clear, as are the hand-painted black and white "A" and "1920" and the engraved "World Champions." A marvelous antique from football's treasure chest.
