This University of Mississippi All-American quarterback and third baseman was drafted by the AFL Oilers and the NFL Browns. Jake Gibbs was also a $105,000 Yankee bonus baby. In the neck of the jersey is a gray felt patch with the name "Gibbs" in blue chain stitch. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label and size, "44." Across the front of the jersey is "New York" and on the back is the player number "41." Both the name and number are made of blue felt. The back numbers and the front name have been restored. Our client obtained this jersey from Pete Sheehy many years ago. The jersey shows game-use and with the exception of the above mentioned changes, appears to have no other alterations of any kind.
