As he heads into his eighth Major League season, Derek Jeter has already accomplished more than most players do in their entire career. The 1996 American League Rookie of the Year, he has lead his team to five World Series appearances. A perennial All Star, he has appeared in four consecutive mid-summer classics and it was in the 2001 game that he used this bat. He was voted the Most Valuable Player in that game, no doubt due in small part to his expert use of this bat which he used to hit a sixth inning homerun. The 33.75 inch, 31 ounce P72 model Louisville Slugger shows evidence of nice game use with ball and stitch marks visible on the barrel. There is a light coat of pine tar/stick-um applied to the handle for grip. Jeter has signed the bat "Derek Jeter, 2001 All Star Game 6th inning HR." The perfect silver paint pen autograph has been authenticated and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. The bat is also accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Derek Jeter himself attesting to it's authenticity. It is hard to imagine a more ironclad and desirable bat from one of the games brightest young stars. Pure Yankee perfection.
