High-kicking right-hander Juan Marichal was truly one of the top pitchers of his era, compiling 243 career wins while losing only 142 games and garnering nine All-Star selections. Following his sixteen impressive seasons, Marichal became the minister of sports in his homeland Dominican Republic and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983. Marichal wore this home flannel jersey during his 1960 rookie season, in which he was 6-2 with a 2.66 ERA. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Tim McAuliffe" manufacturer's tag and below it are the year "'60" and size "42," each embroidered in red on a white tag. Below this is a black Sharpie autograph that reads "Juan Marichal H.O.F. 1983" and rates an 8+. The team name "Giants" is sewn across the front of the jersey and the player number "27" is sewn across the back. The letters and numbers are made of black felt on an orange tackle twill backing. The name tag has been removed from the neck. The jersey shows game use and, with the exception of the removed name tag, appears to have no alterations of any kind.
