The 1962 NY Mets made history on two fronts: they were the first NL team in New York since the Dodgers and Giants left in 1957 and they managed to have one of the worst records of any team in the history of the game. This jacket was worn during that historic season by Hobie Landrith, the first pick by the team in expansion draft. The jacket was manufactured by "Felco Athletic Wear" and has their label in the collar. Adjacent to this is the size tag ,"44", and another tag reading "100% Wool." On the sleeve is the player number "5" in orange felt. Apparently the felt "N Y" was removed from the front and replaced with the "Mets" logo patch when the jacket was sent down to the minors.
