Twelve years after his Major League debut, Ken Heintzelman had sudden success in 1949 (17-10, 3.02) with a NL-high five shutouts and a nine game winning streak. In the neck of the jersey is a white felt patch with the name "Heintzelman" in black chain stitch. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label and adjacent is the size tag, "44." Below this is the wash tag. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Phillies" in script-style letters and on the back is the player number "27." The letters and numbers are made of red embroidered stitch on a white felt backing. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
