Chuck Tanner debuted with the Milwaukee Braves on April 12, 1955 and became the third pinch hitter ever to homer on his first major league pitch. This jersey was worn during 1956 season and again during the 1957 World Championship season when the Braves changed the Indian Head patch which appears on the left sleeve of this jersey. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label, which includes the size "42." Below this is the wash tag and under this is a white felt patch reading "Tanner 56" in red chain stitch. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Braves" in script-style letters. Under this is the Braves multicolored felt tomahawk. The player number "18" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the shirt. The letters and numbers are made of red on black felt. The jersey shows game-use and with the exception of the changed Indian Head patch, appears to have no other alterations of any kind.
