One of the all-time great shortstops, Ripken combines power and defense in a way rivaled by few of his predecessors. A hometown hero who has played his entire career for the Baltimore Orioles, he started 17 consecutive All-Star games, hit more home runs than any shortstop in history and owns highest single-season fielding percentage for a shortstop. But it will probably be his consecutive games played record that he will be remembered for most. On the inside front tail of the jersey is the "Rawlings" label with the size "46" and adjacent is the flag tag reading "Set 1 1988." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Orioles" in script-style letters made of black on white tackle twill and on the back is an orange nameplate with the name "Ripken" in black tackle twill. The player number "8" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the shirt. The numbers are made of black on white tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
