A muscle-bound right-handed slugger, Juan Gonzalez developed into one of the most prolific RBI men to anchor a lineup since WWII. He was a full time player at the age of 21 and a two-time MVP before his 30th birthday. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Russell Athletic" label and below is the size tag, "48." Under this is the "2" Extra Length" tag and below this is the year tag, "2001." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Cleveland" in script-style letters made of red on blue/white tackle twill. On the back is a gray nameplate with the name "Gonzalez" and below this is the player number "22." Both the name and number are made of red on blue tackle twill. On the right sleeve is "American League" centennial patch and on the left sleeve is a patch with the number "5" commemorating the death of Lou Boudreau. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
