The 1915 Detroit Tigers won 100 games but lost the pennant by one game to the Boston Red Sox and their phenom left-handed pitcher, Babe Ruth. The Tigers were led by outfielders Cobb, Crawford and Veach. In 1915, Cobb hit .369 with 112 RBIs and 96 stolen bases. The pitching staff was led by Stan Coveleski, Hooks Dauss and Jean Debuc who combined for 65 wins. This dark brown Tigers cap is from that 100 win season of 1915. A white thread "D" appears on the front of the cap above the 2" brim. A Spalding label is located on the inside back of the cap attached to the partially deteriorated leather band. The condition of the cap is overall EX and shows game-use.
