Dykes was a two-time All-Star who played on Connie Mack's great Athletics teams of the late 1920s. From 1934-39, Dykes was a player/manager for the Chicago White Sox and continued to manage the club from 1940-46. In the neck of the jersey is the "Goldsmith" label and adjacent is the size tag, "44." On the left breast is the "Sox" logo and on the back is the player number "5." Both the logo and the number are made of red on blue felt. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
