One of the most prolific home run hitters of our generation, Sammy Sosa has topped 60 home runs three times in his career. including the 1998 season when he and Mark McGwire engaged in their now famous race for the record. A five-time All Star, he was voted the 1998 National League MVP and is a future Hall of Fame inductee. This 34 inch, 31.5 ounce Rawlings 256B model bat was used by Sosa during the 1997 season. It shows heavy game use with ball and stitch marks evident on the barrel. The knob has been taped for grip in the typical Sosa style and there is a moderate amount of pine tar applied the handle. His jersey number "21" appears on both ends in silver paint pen.
