This is a super-sized and extremely rare 21" x 49" framed team photograph of the 1916 world champion Brooklyn Robins. This legendary team won the last championship in Brooklyn before the "Bums" won in 1955. In retrospect, the 1916 Brooklyn Robins roster would seem to have been unbeatable. It included no less than four future Hall of Famers: Casey Stengel, pitcher Rube Marquard, Zack Wheat, and manager Wilbert Robinson, whose tenure lasted until 1931. Those who only know Stengel as a flinty manager will hardly recognize him at the far right of the second row. Even more eye-catching is the hulking image of Wilbert "Uncle Robby" Robinson in the second row center. The black frame has some chipping on the underside of the left corner. The VG-EX photo itself is crystal-clear and slightly sepia-toned, with some visible damage caused by fold marks in the center and on the left side.
