It was Home Run Heaven when Mark McGwire met The Green Monster during the annual home run contest the night before the 1999 All-Star Game at Fenway Park. Undaunted, Big Mac bombed a record 13 moon balls over the legendary leftfield wall in the first round, jacking eight shots over 450 feet, one off a light tower 100 feet above. This Official 1999 All-Star Game ball was smacked by McGwire's bat during the event and has the abuse marks to prove it. The red and blue stitched ball is stamped "Home Run Derby '99" in red and has "MM" hand written on it in blue pen, possibly by McGwire. It comes with a letter of authenticity from Yankee coach Don Zimmer, who obtained the ball.
