Shane Battier is the latest in a long line of exceptional Duke forwards that includes Christian Laettner, Grant Hill and Elton Brand. As a senior he received the Naismith and Wooden awards given annually to the National Player of the year. On the left front tail of the jersey is the size tag, "48" and adjacent is the "Reebok" label. Next to this is the "+2 Length" label and below is the year tag, "2001-2002." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Memphis" in white on red/teal tackle twill and on the back is the name "Battier" in white tackle twill. The player number "31" appears on both the front and back of the shirt. The numbers are made of white on red/teal tackle twill. On the upper right front is an American flag patch commemorating the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. On the upper left front is the "NBA" patch. There is an autograph on the back number "1." rates an 8. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
