Beginning with divisional play in 1933, The New York Giants won eight Eastern Division Titles in 14 years including two World Championships in 1934 and 1938. This jacket belonged to quarterback/halfback John Gildea who played one year for the Giants in 1938. In the collar of the jacket is the "Alex Taylor & Co." tag. In the left front pocket is an identification tag with Gildea's name and address written on the back. The blue wool jacket has soft red leather sleeves with a white felt football on the left chest. On the football sewn in red stitch are the words "New York World Champions Giants." The jacket remains in near-mint condition over 60 years later.
