If one had to choose one quarterback with the game on the line to take them downfield for that winning or tying TD, most NFL historians would pick Roger Staubach. Never has pro football seen such a complete package of poise, brains and skill as the Dallas Cowboys' two-time Super Bowl winner and one time MVP. "Jolly Roger" led NFL passers three times: 1971, 1977, and 1979, after completing a Heisman Trophy career at the Naval Academy. Dallas Cowboys game-used jerseys are among the most rare in pro football, particularly from their golden decade of the 1970s. In the neck of this mid to late 1970s jersey is the "Southland" label ." On the back of the jersey is a white nameplate with the name "Staubach" in blue letters. The blue player number "12" appears on the front, back and each shoulder of the durene jersey. All of the letters and numbers have been ironed on. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
