This full-color hand-painted 28" x 50" Steve Sax caricature captures the excitement that Messier and the city of New York experienced as the Rangers finally brought the Stanley Cup back to Manhattan after 54 tormenting years. Sax, known for his intriguing life-like depictions of famous sports personalities, displays "The Captain" in that now famous pose holding Lord Stanley at center ice. A crossed-out 1940 banner in the crowd and a 1994 Stanley Cup Champions cap gives the piece an authentic feel.
