Canseco was a baseball giant in size, potential, and gossip and became the first member of the 40-40 club when he was a mere 23 year old, winning the MVP award. At the peak of his career, few people could match his formidable presence and tremendous swing at the plate. This jersey was manufactured in 2000 and given to Canseco to wear in the latter part of the 2001season (post 9/11). On the left front tail is the "Majestic" label and below is the size tag "48." Below this is a white patch reading "48-00." The numbers denote the size and year respectively, and are made of black embroidered stitch. On the left breast is the "Sox" logo and on the back is the name "Canseco." The player number "31" appears on both the right breast and on the back of the jersey. The logo, name and numbers are made of black on silver tackle twill. On the back of the vest is an American flag patch commemorating the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The jersey shows even wear throughout. The stitching on the name and numbers is different than on the logo owing to the fact that the jersey was not lettered until the latter part of the 2001 season. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
