John Stephenson joined the Mets in 1964 and helped the team break in Shea Stadium when they moved in from the Polo Grounds. In the neck of the 1966 jersey is a gray patch reading "12-40" denoting player number and size respectively. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label with the size "40." Below this is the "Set 2" flag tag and the "66" year tag. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "New York" and below this is the player number "12" which also appears on the back of the jersey. All letters and numbers are made of blue felt on orange tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the "Mets" skyline logo patch. The jersey shows even wear throughout with pilling evident on the felt numbers and the flannel itself. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
