Yogi Berra is known to millions who don't even follow baseball. His persona transcends the game. Yogi was a master at calling pitches and handling a pitching staff. He caught two no-hitters by Allie Reynolds in 1951 and Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series. When his career was over, Berra had played on a record ten World Series champions. He also played in an unmatched 14 World Series and holds WS records for games (75) at-bats (259) and doubles (10.) Wherever he goes, Berra remains one of baseball's most popular figures. In the neck of the jersey is a gray label reading "42 74 8" which has been done in blue chain stitch. The numbers denote the size, year and manager's number, respectively. On the right front tail is the "Rawlings" label with the size, "42." Across the front of the shirt is the name "Mets" in script-style letters. The player number "8" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of blue on orange tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the Mets "Skyline" patch. The jersey shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
