Born Henry Collins, "Rip" borrowed his new name from his favorite brand of whiskey and it was said that the talented pitcher only played the game to support his lifestyle of parties and booze. Following an 11 year career that saw him win more than 100 games Collins played with various teams in other leagues including one in Albany. In the collar is the "Spalding" manufacturers label. Adjacent to this is the size tag "44." Also in the collar is a gray label reading "Rip Collins" in red chain stitch. On the inside rear tail is the year "41" in red chain stitch. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Albany" in red on blue felt. On the back is the player number "2" in blue felt. In the waistband of the pants is the "Spalding" label and adjacent to this is the size tag "38." Below this is a gray patch reading "Rip Collins" in red chain stitch. Also in the pants, behind the buttons, is the year "41" in red chain stitch. Included are a pair of blue wool socks. The uniform shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
