Dennis Eckersley was one of the games most dominant relief pitchers during his era. A six time all-star he was the 1992 AL Cy Young award winner and MVP and twice in his career was voted the Rolaids Relief man of the year. In 1997, after playing for 22 years, he added another 36 saves to his all time total. On the inside left tail is the "Rawlings" label and below this is the size tag "46." Under this is a white label reading "43 97 1" in black Swiss embroidered stitch. The numbers denote the player number, year, and set number respectively. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Cardinals" in script style letters made of red on blue embroidered stitch. Going through the letter "C" is a gold embroidered bat with a red Cardinal perched on each end. On the back is a gray nameplate with the player name "Eckersley" and below this is the number "45." All of the letters and numbers are made of red on blue tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the "Jackie Robinson 50th" anniversary patch commemorating the breaking of baseball's color barrier. Eckersley has signed the jersey on the front in black marker rating an 8. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
