As a young man, Bob Carpenter attended Hall of Famer Bill Terry's baseball school and impressed him so much that he eventually gave Carpenter a job on the New York Giants pitching staff. This uniform was worn by him during the 1947 season which was his last. In the neck of the jersey is the "MacGregor" label with the size "48." Below this is a white label reading "Carpenter 33" in red chain stitch. On the inside left front tail is a white label with the year "47" in red chain stitch. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Giants" and on the back is the player number "33." The letters and numbers are made of black on orange felt. There is orange and black trim around the neck and arm holes which also runs down the front of the jersey. Also included are a pair of pants. In the waist of the pants is the "MacGregor" label with the size "38." Above this is a white patch reading "Carpenter 33 47" in red chain stitch. This denotes player name, number, and year respectively. There is orange and black trim along each pant leg. The jersey and pants show game use and appear to have no alterations of any kind.
