Jim Hearn had a very promising 12-7 rookie year with the Cardinals in 1947. With the Giants, he was the third starter on the staff behind aces Sal Maglie and Larry Jansen, as the Giants swept the "miracle" pennant of 1951. He was excellent at throwing double play pitches. In the neck of the jersey is a gray felt patch with the name "Hearn" in black chain stitch. On the left front tail is the "McAuliffe" label. Below this is "46 5in. 19 5" in black chain stitch. The numbers denote the size, five inches longer length, and the year, respectively. The number "5" is missing from the year. On the inside left front tail is the wash tag. Across the front of the jersey is the name "New York" and on the back is the player number "21." The name and number are made of black on orange felt. There is an autograph on the left front which rates a nine. The jersey shows game-use and with the exception of the missing number in the year, appears to have no other alterations of any kind. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
